I have the honor of attending and contributing to the St. Charles Hospital benefit for the renovation of the Maternal Child Pavilion. More than 100,000 babies and over 50 years have taken a physical toll on the Maternal Child Pavilion. The renovation project will: Expand the size of the unit to accommodate additional patient rooms; Renovate semi-private patient rooms to private rooms; Refurbish the Labor and Delivery birthing suites; Provide upgraded waiting areas for family and friends; Provide the unit with new and upgraded equipment and amenities. Once completed, the newly remodeled unit will provide a technologically advanced yet comfortable, home-like environment.

David R. Okrent: Creating Proposals as District Delegate on Long Island
As District Delegate of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, David R. Okrent is working on setting up programs and seminars on Long Island for Seniors and families with Special Needs. As part of the State Bar Legislation Committee, he is also working on a legislative proposal to enhance powers of attorney to simplify the ability of an incompetent to Renunciation without court permission. Many estate plans contain this feature and a legislative victory on this would move us forward in controlling our own destiny without court intervention.
David R. Okrent is honored with a seat on the Board of The St. Charles Foundation, Port Jefferson, New York.
St. Charles Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The St. Charles Hospital, one of Long Island top ranking hospitals. Renown for its three areas of expertise: Maternal/Child, Orthopedics and it's premier center for rehabilitation, The Foundation helps make it possible to continue their 100 year mission of providing care to all in need.
